****ELLE OSBORNE***

****JULY***
Thursday July 2nd - Elle’s new sound collage LongLines gets its official launch at the National Fishing Heritage Museum, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire in two weeks time – Thursday July 2nd at 12 midday.
LongLines is a snapshot-in-sound of the lives of Grimsby fishing people, from the early 1900s to the present day, using found sounds, music and museum archive interviews. The sound collage will be a permanent installation on the dockside, welcoming visitors aboard the museum’s exhibition trawler the Ross Tiger.
During 2008-9, Elle was the first ever artist-in-residence at the National Fishing Heritage Museum, and LongLines is the result of the residency. Elle was born in Grimsby and comes from a long line of fishing people.

ARTIST: JEB LOY NICHOLS
TITLE: STRANGE FAITH AND PRACTICE
CAT. NO: UNFOLDCD008
DISTRIBUTION: SRD
LABEL: IMPOSSIBLE ARK RECORDS
RELEASE DATE: 07.09.09
“Art and music, sound and vision, it's all the same - ways of trying to make sense of the senseless world in which we live.” – Jeb Loy Nichols

THE WAY OUT IS IN** New art by Jeb Loy Nichols at the Vortex
***** Jeb’s first novel was published *****
October 1st saw the publication of Jeb Loy Nichols' first novel, The Untogether, published by Alcemi Press.
The writer John Williams has had this to say: "This is not a love story. With this haunting, modernist account of lives struck by loss and threatened by love, Jeb Loy Nichols emerges as a singular voice."
Iain Sinclair "A spry, welcome voice.'
Jeb Loy says: "I wrote The Untogether slowly, as a patchwork. I stole mornings and minutes from other jobs, filling notebooks a line at a time; I was looking for a form that would allow me to look closely at small things. Small things, and the spaces between them, are what interest me."
Do you think the blurb description of your novel as "a love story" is accurate?
"Not really. There was a song by PIL that began with one of the great lines: This is not a love song. I think that about this book. It's a book about being and not being together - I'm not sure what a love story is anymore. Love is a too tarnished word."

****A Message from Rebecca*****
Just to let you know that we have done another pressing of my first album 'June Babies', with an eco-friendly cardboard cover (old double album style) redesigned by Jeb Loy Nichols.
The music is the same but the CD now features 2 videos, one a 'pop video' of 'June Babies', and the other the stills from the recording sessions, both of which were shown at the original album launch at the Union Chapel in 2001.
This CD is available from Rebecca Hollweg and can be bought by cheque or through paypal.
I am happy to sign CDs. We also offer a gift-wrapping and posting service, using white tissue paper and an appropriately coloured satin ribbon.
